Companion Planting Guide

Look up companion planting relationships: which plants help each other grow and which should be kept apart.

About Companion Planting

Companion planting uses natural plant relationships to improve growth, repel pests, and attract pollinators. The classic Three Sisters (corn + beans + squash) is a Native American example: corn provides structure for beans, beans fix nitrogen, squash shades the ground to retain moisture. Marigolds repel nematodes and aphids near tomatoes. Avoid planting fennel near most vegetables β€” it inhibits growth of many plants.
