About Fabric Yardage Calculator

Yardage = (finished length + seam allowances) / fabric width, rounded up to the nearest 0.25 m. Always add 10–15% for shrinkage (pre-wash fabric before cutting) and cutting waste. Directional prints or plaids may require 20–30% extra to match patterns. Buy a little extra — fabric from the same dye lot can be hard to match later.
